He earned his PhD in Kinesiology and Community Health, received post-doctoral training from Washington University in St. Louis, and then joined a research team at Duke to study primary compounds (so mostly macronutrients and vitamins), secondary compounds (phytochemical, antioxidants, & polyphenols), and the molecular relationship these compounds have with the human body. He’s now focusing his research on agricultural practices as they related to human health to uncover some of the most forward-thinking research as it relates to creating a more robust food system.
